Vaccines at Story Family Medicine

Does Story Family Medicine Offer Vaccinations

Does SFM encourage vaccination?

Yes. The providers at SFM generally encourage vaccination, including infants, children and adults. Vaccination is a well-considered way of training our immune systems to better handle contagions which can cause serious illness.

The primary benefits of vaccination include reducing the severity of infection and reducing transmission to vulnerable people.

Vaccination does provoke the immune system; people should expect reactions as a sign of developing immunity. Severe reactions to vaccination are very rare.

SFM strongly encourages our members to consider vaccination as part of their medical care. We also consider it our responsibility to kindly answer your questions and provide you with accurate information.

Does SFM mandate vaccination?

We frequently have parents tell us that their previous pediatrician required full vaccination before providing care. 😤

SFM will never require our members to vaccinate in order to receive medical care.

👉SFM opposes mandating vaccination.
We strongly support parental rights and responsibility for all vaccine decisions. All medical decisions need to be individualized, including vaccination.

Thankfully, Idaho has a strong Parental Rights Law regarding immunization.  Idaho allows parents to simply sign an Exemption form (on Medical, Religious, or Philosophical basis).

Does SFM provide vaccinations?

Yes! SFM carries all childhood vaccinations and a selection of adult vaccines.

SFM participates in the state funded Idaho Immunization Program  How much does it cost?

Administrative Fee:

1 immunization = $20

2 immunizations = $40

3 or more immunizations = $60

Do you have more questions?

We understand that some parents have hesitations with vaccination. We consider it our responsibility to respectfully address your questions and provide you with accurate information.  It is important that parents understand that some vaccines are produced using fetal stem cells.

Reach out to our clinic to schedule an appointment with your provider at SFM if you want more information. We are thankful to have the time to listen and address your questions.

Our providers have put together a document regarding ethical considerations and more detailed information.  Click here to access that document.
